Hair of the Day!

I got to meet the sister of a lovely client of mine. They both came in for haircuts and we had so much fun. This beautiful mother hadn’t had her haircut in a long time and was definitely in need of a change! We took off 6-8 inches, shaping her hair into the “Lob”(see post The 10 best Bobs and Lobs of Hollywood!) I did a full razor cut to reduce visible lines, create texture and movement.

This gentle soul came to me with brassy, orange, platinum and golden colors through her hair. She had previously tried red hair, she then decided she wanted to go back to her normal blonde. In the process of trying to remove the color herself  she decided that it was best to get some help! So we decided to start with a clean slate! We gave her a light brown base and with a low peroxide we created some highlights around her face!

This Peach is the best friend of one of my good friends, you may remember her in previous posts! Each time we do her hair, she continually wants change. This time we took her dramatically shorter!! She was also the inspiration to the haircut earlier in this post!

Hair of the Day!

Today’s hair of the day, I am very proud of. (I am proud of all my work but this is my favorite so far.) I received a text message late last night from another gal at the salon saying that she rescheduled her clients sister from Thursday for a color correction to my books the next day because of time conflicts. I had no idea what I was walking into!

The very sweet mother of 4, of which I had an awesome time. Something happened with her usual stylist, she left very unhappy and didn’t feel like she could talk to her stylist. We took her golden tones and added a lowlight and a lighter blonde. We also took her Partial and raised it a full.

Highlight: 20vol Blondor with Olaplex
Lowlight: 55/0 =10vol
Toner:  2 part clear and 1 part 9B Shades EQ

Before and After:

I love these photos. These two are my absolute favorite out of this whole series.  They show the truest color as well as my lovely station.  _DSC0672copy

Another reason I am thrilled with this hair, is also the fact that I took my DSLR to work for the first time in my Hair Career and used my SB-600 Speedlight and got tremendous results. I have been fighting with the lighting at the salon while using my camera from my smartphone. This was my first time using my DSLR and my Speedlight for something other then playing around. Since I got my speedlight (3 years ago) I hadn’t really used it other then to play with it (to figure it out)

We also reshaped the previous haircut adding more layers! It was such a pleasure to work with you today!
